Processing Time In Lieu in IPA Books+

Question

How do I record Time in Lieu in IPA Books+?

Answer

Create a Leave Item of an Other type.  Does not accrue time and as lieu hours are acquired, edit the Leave Summary section of the Employee on the pay run for the In Lieu hours acquired and used. 

 

Detailed Instructions

Create a leave item for Time in Lieu in Payroll Settings

  1. Settings > Payroll Settings > Leave tab > Add button

  2. Leave Type is Other;

  3. Name is Time in Lieu

  4. Account is your payroll expenses account

  5. Entitlement PA is left blank

  6. Accrual period is Per Pay

  7. Tick Pay on Termination

  8. Save & Close

 

Add this Time in Lieu Leave item onto the Employee Record

  1. Payroll > Employees

  2. Click on your employee > Leave tab

  3. Under Leave, click on Add new row

  4. Click in the Leave name box and select Time in Lieu

  5. Leave the blank fields blank

  6. Save & Close

The Employee will now have a Time in Lieu item available in the pay run.

 

On the pay run, to record Time in Lieu hours:

  1. Click on the employee to open pay details;

  2. Click on Show Leave Summary

  3. On the Time in Lieu line, in the Accumulated this pay field, enter the number of hours in Lieu;

  4. Click on Hide Leave Summary and complete this employees pay for this run;

 

To take Lieu hours:

  1. Start the pay run and click on the employee to open pay details;

  2. Click on Show Leave Summary

  3. On the Time in Lieu line, in the Taken this Pay field, enter the number of Lieu hours taken;

  4. Click on Hide Leave Summary and complete this employees pay for this run;

  5. (salary employees will still get their normal pay)
