PayPal

PayPal is now available as a method of payment for your customers. Not only does this provide secure payment, but it also automates part of the process - when the customer pays, a receipt for the invoice is automatically created, and the invoice will be marked as paid.

Before your customers can use PayPal, you will need to need to set it up. To do this, show the administration menu by hovering over the cog icon, and clicking on Settings.

On the Settings page in the Integrations section, click on Payment services.

On the Payment services list screen, click on PayPal.

On the PayPal screen, check the Activate PayPal payments checkbox, then put the email address in the PayPal email field that is associated with your PayPal account. If you don’t have an account with PayPal, you can enter in an email address and PayPal will create an account for you, or you can create a PayPal account manually via the PayPal website.

In the PayPal fee account field, select the Chart of accounts account that you wish to use to allocate to for PayPal fees. Click Save & close when you’re done.

A PayPal bank account will also be created for you once you have entered in the details for PayPal.

Once PayPal is setup, invoice emails sent via IPA Books+ will contain additional text to inform the customer that they can pay the invoice online. The link provided in the email will allow the customer to access & pay the invoice via PayPal.

When your customer clicks the Pay invoice link, they will access a page where they can see the invoice amount due & have an option to open with PayPal.

When your customer clicks the Pay Now button they will access a PayPal page where they can pay using an existing PayPal account, debit card or credit card.

After that, either the payment will succeed for fail. Below on the left shows a successful payment, and on the right shows a declined payment.

As mentioned previously successful payments will automatically create a receipt transaction for the relevant invoice.
