Error H202 when switching to multi-user mode in Reckon Accounts Business

Legacy KB ID: 5389

Question

Why do I get an error H202 when I switch to multi-user mode in the company file after installing or upgrading to Reckon Accounts Business?

Answer

Uninstall the Database Server Manager on the Server and re-install it with the option Reckon Accounts and Company File Server.

The Issue

When Reckon Accounts Business is installed on a Windows Server with the option Company File Server only, the company file cannot switch on multi-user mode, generating the H202 error.

Workaround:

  1. Uninstall the Database Server Manager through the Windows Control Panel;
  2. Install again with the option Reckon Accounts and Company File Server;
  3. Delete the Reckon Accounts desktop icon to prevent other users launching the Reckon Accounts application accidentally.
    If you do open Reckon Accounts on the server, click on NO on invitations to activate the product so that you do not use up a licence.

You should now be able to open your company file on a client PC and switch to multi-user mode.

If the problem persists work through the suggestions in Reckon Accounts cannot reach the server on that computer (H202).
