You cannot use more than one Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable account in the same transaction.

Legacy KB ID: 83

Question

When I try to enter a journal I get the following error message: You cannot use more than one Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable account in the same transaction.

Answer

This warning occurs if there is more than one A/R (Accounts Receivable) or A/P (Accounts Payable) account in the same journal entry. Reckon Accounts will not accept this type of entry. Only one A/R -OR- one A/P account can be used in each journal entry transaction.

If you need to record a journal with multiple lines to multiple A/R or A/P accounts or a journal entry that contains an A/R and an A/P account, you will need to create separate journal entries.
